What this is

My Vinyl Collection is one person’s catalogue of their own records, shared with a small number of people they have let in. It is a personal, non-commercial project. There is no advertising, no analytics, and nothing here is sold or shared for anybody else’s purposes.

What is stored about you

Signing in with Google tells this app three things about you, which are kept for as long as you have an account here:

• your email address, which is what access is granted to;
• the name on your Google account, so a list of people reads like people;
• an internal account identifier, along with when the account was created and when it was last used.

If you ask to be let in, that request is stored too: your address, your name, when you asked, and whether it was granted. If it is granted, your address goes on the list of people who may read the collection.

Nothing else is collected. No profile photograph, no contacts, no other Google data, no record of which pages you looked at, and no cookies beyond the one that keeps you signed in.

Why

To answer one question — may this person read this collection — and to keep you signed in while you do. Your address is the answer to the first, because access is granted to an address rather than to a device or a password. That is the whole of it.

Who else handles it

• Google — checks it is you, and tells this app your address and name. What Google does with your Google account is governed by their own privacy policy.
• Supabase — hosts the database and the sign-in service, and therefore holds everything listed above.
• Vercel — runs the app itself, and sees the ordinary technical details of a web request.

Both are service providers acting on the owner’s behalf. Nobody else is given your details.

How long

Your address stays on the access list until it is removed. Removing it stops you reading the collection on your very next request. Ask and your account, your access-list entry and your request will be deleted outright — there is nothing here worth keeping once you are gone.

What you can ask for

A copy of what is stored about you, a correction, or deletion. It is four fields, so none of that takes long. You can also sign out at any time, which ends the session in that browser.
